The England international is said to be being lined up by Guardiola, but French publication L’Equipe say they have lined up an alternative in Bournemouth defender Nathan Ake.

The Mirror claim City are interested in 21-year-old Fedor Chalov, who the report says has attracted interest from some of the biggest clubs in world football. The CSKA Moscow forward finished last season as the Russian Premier League’s top scorer with 15 strikes.
